Our latest "Taste of Tennis" event was held January 15th. 12 aspiring tennis
players came out to try the game under the leadership of Nancy McGruer, assisted
by Keith McGruer, Ron Ball and Judy Simser. From this, a series of five 1.5 hr.
lessons are planned. The participants will be eligible for the Novice Tournament
to be held March 3rd.
Since the "Taste of Tennis" program was started about six years ago, about 150
people have taken part with many going on to further lessons and participation
in
the Tennis Club programs. 30-40 are now playing on competitive teams.

"A TASTE of TENNIS"
This will be an opportunity for
those without tennis experience or those having tried tennis never, seldom, or a
long time ago, to come out and give tennis a try. Participants will need only
their running shoes. Racquets, balls and instruction will be provided.
A sign-up sheet will be posted on the
Tennis Bulletin Board on the tennis court side of the Charlotte Center.
