Getting a list of the men and boys who caddied during the existence of the
course.
Could use some help here with photos and stories.
| Don Harriger, remembers being paid $.50 for caddying and liked to caddie for one customer that only played nine holes and would drive them back to the caddie shack in his Packard. | ||
| Jabe Bacon, remembers a new caddie being asked by the golfer about his next shot and he said, "hit it down the fairbanks with your puttier" | ||
| George Ransom ( from Barbara Fry )- George ( Dad) was a young caddy at 13-14 for a group of gangsters from Chicago... They let him drive their Cadillac down to get something cold to drink and bring it back up. One of the men shot a golf ball into the crotch of a tree.. The man bet the other men that he could get it out of the position with one shot.. He collected the money and handed it to Dad.. There Dad stood with hundreds of dollars in his hand... The man picked up a club as to take his stand.. and then pulled out a gun and with" one shot" got the ball out of the tree... Needless to say scared the beejeebers out of him. | ||
